Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy 1 halfbound in 19th-Century calfskin and marbled paper over boards. The armorial bookplate of the Barton Library is present on the front pastedown and a bibliographic description that appears to be in the hand of Thomas Pennant Barton is tipped to the front flyleaf. A title page inscription, in a much earlier hand, reads "The 1st ed. is 1612."

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy 2 is the third of four other items bound together in a volume titled Webster & others: dramas. This volume includes [1]: The Dutchesse of Malfy: a tragedy ... / by John Webster -- [2]: Appius and Virginia: a tragedy / by John Webster -- [3]: The white Devil, or, The tragedy of Paulo Giordano Vrsini, duke of Brachiano ... / written by John Webster -- [4]: North-VVard hoe ... / by Thomas Decker and John Webster. This copy contains numerous page repairs and has been trimmed excessively, resulting in occasional loss of text. It is preceded in the volume by a manuscript note that appears to be in the hand of Thomas Pennant Barton regarding the possibility of rebinding and amalgamating the text with copy 1 to form a perfect copy. There is an inscription, in a much earlier hand, on the recto of the title page, and a partially illegible signature on the verso that reads, "Richard [...]"
